Mike has excelled in teaching data warehouse courses including Teradata Utilities, SQL, UNIX, Oracle, TOP END, Database Administration, Physical Database Design, and Teradata Concepts to many of the largest data warehouse sites in the world.
Mike has spoken at the NCR Partners conference for the past four years and received outstanding evaluations for his presentations on Teradata SQL and Teradata SQL V2R3 enhancements. Mike's style of great presentation skills combined with his vast technical knowledge has made Mike extremely popular in the technical arena.
Mike began teaching in 1979 for Lansing Community College where he taught COBOL, FORTRAN, IBM Assembler and BASIC. Mike then joined NCR in 1980 in NCR Support where he gained experience with the intricate details of NCR's operating systems, telecommunications, transaction processing systems and mainframe languages.
Mike transferred to NCR Global Learning in 1994 where he taught every course offered in the Teradata curriculum. Mike has gained a reputation as one of the best Teradata utility and SQL experts in the business. Mike has written a 20 chapter Teradata SQL book due out in April 2001 (AMAZON.COM) that is designed for the Teradata SQL purist. Mike has taught at SouthWestern Bell (SBC), JC Penney's, 3M, NCR, AT&T, AT&T Wireless, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Boeing and many more sites.
Mike is currently working for Coffing Data Warehousing with Tom Coffing and the CDW team. Mike joined Coffing Data Warehousing in May of 2000. Mike has continued his work in the classroom teaching Teradata Concepts, Utilities, and SQL in a one-week boot camp.
