As Certified Teradata Masters, Coffing Data Warehousing consultants traditionally
enter a spectrum of differing warehouse environments at various parts of the
implementation cycle. While we believe that clients, through proper planning
and guidance, can design a model to fit their needs, there is no such thing as
data warehousing nirvana, and in many cases, when it comes time to implement the
logical model, clients experience roadblocks called the 'real world' - this is
where our Coffing Consultants are usually called in. As a result, our consultants
are expected to get up to speed regarding the model and physical structure in a
seemingly impossible timeframe, especially when you consider most users spend
nearly two years with a model before they feel comfortable. MetaCensus arose
out of this need to provide instant effectiveness.

Prior to developing MetaCensus, Coffing Data Warehousing looked around for
existing solutions only to realize there was nothing that met our basic needs.
We needed a tool that was easy to distribute, easy to use and instantly available.
While some vendors, including NCR, offered metadata packages, none of the
offerings met our most basic Teradata-specific needs. A black hole existed
between functionality, usability and availability, not to mention web-portability.
